The following terms and conditions apply to you (the Customer) for the purchase of tickets for sessions and events at the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival (HRAFF) venues.
These Terms and Conditions are conditions both for the sale of a ticket and are conditions of attendance at the event or session. By purchasing a ticket, or attending an event or session, The Customer agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
Nothing contained in these Terms and Conditions abrogates a Customer’s responsibility to comply with the separate terms and conditions of a venue at which HRAFF is hosting an event. It is the Customers responsibility to ensure that he or she is aware of and will comply with all relevant terms and conditions. By accepting these Terms and Conditions the Customer accepts this responsibility.
1. Purchase of tickets
a) All ticket prices for sessions and events that occur or are provided in Australia are stated in Australian Dollars, and include GST where applicable.
b) Ticket sales for particular sessions and events may be subject to limits on the number of tickets a particular person may purchase. HRAFF may cancel or refuse to accept orders which it believes are placed in excess of any such limits. This includes orders associated with the same name, email address, billing address, credit card number.
c) If the amount you pay for a ticket is incorrect, HRAFF may cancel that ticket (or the order for that ticket) and refund to the Customer the amount paid.
d) Tickets for sessions and events at HRAFF venues are valid only when purchased from HRAFF, or from a person authorised by HRAFF to sell or distribute tickets.
e) Tickets may not, without HRAFF’s prior written consent, be on-sold at a premium, offered as a prize or inducement, packaged or otherwise used for advertising, promotional or other commercial purposes. HRAFF reserves the right to refuse admission to the bearer of any ticket sold or otherwise provided or distributed in breach of this condition.
a) A Customer shall receive a confirmation number (in the form of a confirmation page or email) after submitting payment information.
b) It is the Customer’s responsibility to confirm with HRAFF that the order has been successfully placed. HRAFF will not be responsible for any losses incurred by a Customer assuming that an order was successfully placed if a confirmation number was not received.
c) Session or event tickets for “Venue Collection” are available for collection at ACMI, or other HRAFF venues, 30 minutes before the session start time.
d) In order to collect a ticket, a Customer will need to present the confirmation number, the credit card used to purchase tickets, photo identification and a valid concession or companion card.
a) All general film session tickets are non-refundable but can be exchanged for an equal or lesser dollar value ticket online for a fee of $1 per ticket. Any cost difference between the two tickets will not be refunded. Single ticket exchanges close 2 hours prior to the event start time.
b) Passes (including HRAFF Full Festival and Mini-Passes will not be refunded in full or in part. Sessions booked on a pass can be exchanged or cancelled free of charge online, over the phone, in person or over the counter. Exchanges close two hours prior to session start times.
c) No exchange or refund is offered on our special and Highlight events (including Opening Night, Closing Night, Hear My Eyes, and Gala Film Screening and Cocktail Party).
d) Free or complimentary tickets are not refundable for a cancelled or rescheduled session or event.
e) Session or event tickets may be exchanged only where expressly permitted by HRAFF. Where exchanges are permitted, they may be subject to certain conditions, and additional fees may also apply.
f) No refunds will be given for unused portions of a ticket, under any circumstances.
4. Companion Card Scheme
a) A valid Companion Card or valid Companion Card Number must be produced at the time of the booking to gain access to the Companion Card Scheme offer. Details of use are contained on the Companion Card website www.companioncard.org.au.
b) Companion Card Tickets cannot be booked online. These can be booked over the phone with the HRAFF office or at ACMI Box Office in person, during the dates of HRAFF.
a) Passes include the Mini-Pass, HRAFF Full Festival Pass, Brisbane Festival Pass, Sydney Festival Pass and Canberra Festival Pass
b) Passes can be redeemed against one ticket per session valued at $20 for an adult ticket and $18 for a concession ticket. Passes exclude special and highlight events including (but not exclusive to) Melbourne Opening Night, Melbourne Closing Night, CineSeeds screenings, Melbourne Cinémathèque screening, Hear My Eyes screening, artist workshops and forums.
c) Mini-passes are eligible for six general film sessions at the Melbourne presentation of HRAFF
d) Mini-passes are for a single person’s use and are not transferable to another person or refundable.
e) State based passes (including Brisbane Festival Pass, Sydney Festival Pass, and Canberra Festival Pass) only apply to sessions taking place within the state of the pass title.
6. Package Tickets
a) Package tickets are applicable to films and forums where stated and cannot be transferred to other sessions
b) Where a package ticket session has sold out, that package ticket type is no longer available for purchase.
c) Package Tickets are non-refundable or exchangeable in full or in part.
7. Changes to sessions and events
a) Particulars of the session or event may be changed without prior notice. Films, artists or performers may be added, withdrawn or substituted for specific performances or sessions. In the case of a cancelled film, HRAFF will offer exchanges or return the booking onto your pass to allow you to purchase another film. Passes may not be refunded in full or part based on a session change.
8. Admission to HRAFF and its venues
a) HRAFF reserves the right to deny any person admission to its venues.
b) Entry to HRAFF and its venues is at an individual’s own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HRAFF will not be responsible for any loss, damage, harm or injury arising from a Customer’s entry or attendance at an event or session at a HRAFF venue.
c) All persons seeking admittance to attend an event or session must have a valid ticket, irrespective of their age.
d) Where concessions are applicable, suitable and valid identification must be provided for collection of tickets and for admission to the festival venue.
e) Latecomers will be only admitted during a suitable break or as determined by HRAFF. Under some circumstances this may mean the latecomer misses the session or event in its entirety.
f) No unauthorised photography, audio or video recording is permitted inside the HRAFF venue/s.
g) Any bag or item larger than A4 may be required to be cloaked and may be subject to inspection.
h) It is a condition of entry to an event or session that a search of a Customer and / or their possessions may be required at the time of the entry to the HRAFF venue. If a Customer does not consent to such searches, the Customer may be denied entry to the venue without refund.
9. Use of a Customer’s image
a) By accepting these Terms and Conditions the Customer grants HRAFF permission to film or photograph him or her at a venue, and to reproduce that film or photograph in any audio, video, or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication or reproduction in any medium or context, within lawful limits and without further authorisation by, or compensation to, the Customer.
10. HRAFF accounts
a) When purchasing tickets from HRAFF, or opening an account via the HRAFF website or otherwise, a Customer will be asked to provide HRAFF with his or her current address and other contact information. The Customer must ensure that HRAFF is provided with current, complete, and accurate information.
11. Amendments to terms and conditions
a) HRAFF may vary these Terms and Conditions at any time.
