“Once again Audiard articulates big themes within a mosaic of everyday struggles. A painful yet rewarding tale of social strife and uplifting resilience.”

Winner of the top prize at Cannes Film Festival 2015, Dheepan is the latest critically acclaimed work from French filmmaker Jacques Audiard (A Prophet, Rust and Bone). In the aftermath of civil war in Sri Lanka, Dheepan flees to make a new life in France, forming an arrangement with two strong women to pose as a family in their Paris apartment. But when they find themselves embroiled in a neighbourhood dispute, the threat of violence once again becomes a constant feature of their lives. This is a searing examination of the immigrant experience in contemporary Europe, with an ending sure to spark heated discussions.

This film has been exempt from classification and is restricted to people over 18 years.
